Site Safety Services

The Board of Directors of Holloway Contract Services Limited is fully committed to approaching the planning, management and supervision of health, safety and welfare with at least the same degree and diligence as is applied to quality control, production and achieving client satisfaction. In order to demonstrably achieve those objectives, the Company has put the following in place:

  • We have and maintain an up to date a Safety Policy document which identifies our intent and organisational structure, and assigns responsibilities to key individuals within the company for planning and managing health, safety and welfare;
  • We retain the services of an independent Safety Management Consultancy whose brief includes inspecting and auditing our applied safety management standards on site, and who reports to the Director with special responsibility for Safety Management;
  • Safety inspections and audits are formally measured and benchmarked against set criteria; any inspection or audit recording a shortfall is subject to review at director level;
  • In addition to our enabling Safety Policy document we also develop task-specific Safe Working Procedures which expand and refine the controls recorded in our Risk Assessment Register;
  • All tasks, processes, operations and locations are subject to on-going risk assessment, with significant risks and generic controls formally recorded and explained to our workforce as part of our tool-box safety talk regime;
  • General and task specific Safety Method Statements are prepared for each project and, in each instance, take account of our client's instructions in respect of their requirements for safety management and co-ordination standards;
  • Holloway Contract Services Limited is an active supporter and participant in the industry-recognised Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS), the Health and Safety Executive's (HSE) Working Well Together initiative, and the Respect for People campaign;
  • The Company has a planned in-house Safety Awareness Training Programme for Directors, Managers and Operational Supervisors and Personnel, addressing key issues which influence the planning and management of health, safety and welfare;
  • In communicating our safety management information and instructions to all employees we ensure it is:
    • Credible;
    • Comprehensive and
    • Comprehensible
  • Holloway Contract Services Limited always liaises with and assists its clients in their efforts to achieve a safer working environment.
